I disagree regarding the 2 piece design :) Effectively the difference between the designs is that the 2 piece design lowers the top bumpstop and raises the bottom bumpstop, while your design raises just the bottom bumpstop. The total change is about the same, in both cases the change to the bumpstops eliminate the slack space. There is a slight preload on the bushings on both designs, especially if the subframe bushings are in new/good condition, but the preload is pretty small, and should only have minor impact on the bushing life. In use, the load (pressure) on the bushings should be the same as the subframe no longer has the slack that allows it to move without the loading against the bushing... Both designs get the job done, the 1 piece design is simpler but does change the suspension height/geometry a little (which can be used to its adavantage as you pointed out).
